The Strongman Does What Bullies Do — Picks on the Least Among Us; People of Faith Speak Back

The Big Man, the Strongman elected by "pro-life" white Christians to reChristianize our nation and promote an ethic of life, targets vulnerable transgender children, immigrants frightened for their safety and the security of their families, and Muslims. People of faith speak out in response:

Bill Boyarsky, "Welcome to the Police State of America for Immigrants":

President Donald Trump wants to impose a police state on undocumented immigrants.
His latest order on immigrants and border security takes dead aim at the 11 million unauthorized immigrants who have fearfully been awaiting his action. Now they know. They should get ready for predawn raids, for immigrant families pulled apart, for arrests and deportation of undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of the most minor criminal offenses, and for stops of dark-complexioned motorists and pedestrians. Thus, the impact of the order would extend beyond immigrants and touch the lives of American citizens.
President Barack Obama's administration deported so many people that he became known as the "deporter in chief." But his actions were far more limited than what Trump is proposing.
The potential for a police state is clear. There is little limit to what immigration cops could do."

United Church of Christ minister Dan Schultz tweets in response to The Hill's report about ICE removing Sara, a woman in the hospital with a brain tumor, from the hospital and handcuffing her:

Reverend Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, tweets

A liberal: someone who locks his door at night and then screams because @POTUS wants to secure the border and lock America's door at night.

English writer Greg Hogben tweets back:

Mike Pence, a self-styled "evangelical Catholic" "pro-life" Christian, tweets

ObamaCare will be replaced with something that actually works—bringing freedom and individual responsibility back to American health care

Transgender activist Parker Molloy tweets back:

Episcopal priest Broderick Greer tweets,

Paul Raushenbush, an ordained American Baptist minister, tweets,

Evan Greer, "Trump Is Bullying Transgender Kids Because He Thinks He Can Get Away with It":

The Trump administration is bullying children now. In a vindictive move, the Departments of Justice and Education just shredded federal guidelines that instructed public schools how best to protect transgender students from discrimination. Specifically, the guidance they revoked made it clear that Title IX – the landmark law prohibiting sex discrimination in educational institutions – requires schools to allow to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.
From ICE raids to Standing Rock, this administration has made it clear that it intends to target the most vulnerable while twisting words and facts to claim that its policies are not based in bigotry.
