Rick Perry Wants Us to Hand It Over to God

And speaking of crazy and the current crop of Republican presidential wannabes, as Justin Elliott notes at Salon today, Rick Perry wants us just to hand it all over to God to make it right.  Perry says,

Our founding fathers understood that it was a very important part of the pursuit of happiness. Being able to own things that are your own is one of the things that makes America unique. But I happen to think that it's in jeopardy.

It's in jeopardy because of taxes; it's in jeopardy because of regulation; it's in jeopardy because of a legal system that’s run amok. And I think it's time for us to just hand it over to God and say, "God, You’re going to have to fix this" (emphasis in original).

And I'm wondering who God is for Rick Perry.  Almost certainly a He.  And a property owner.  And perhaps white?  A Republican, undoubtedly.  Owner of a big business, I'd wager.

Who exactly is it that Perry is calling us to turn things over to again?
