Who knew, in the past, when we pondered the biblical texts that speak of the fire next time, that we ourselves would be the ones to light the fire? We, the human race.
We have created the conditions for the fire, and we have provided the flames that have set the tinder burning. And rather than quench the flames as they threaten to consume the entire world and all that lives in it, we urge the burning on.
We, the human race: we are our own fire next time.
