Several days ago, I shared with you a link to an interview that Derrick De Lise did with me, and published at his blog Inexorable Pilgrim. This is a quick footnote to my previous posting, to tell you that Derrick has now published the same interview, which he entitles "Courageous Conversation with Bill Lindsey," at Huffington Post.
I'm very grateful to Derrick for conducting such a thoughtful and thorough interview with me on the topic of living as a committed Christian who also happens to be openly gay. This seems to me such an important discussion for our society to have, as LGBT youth struggle against great odds to find their way in the world while their churches and families often reject them, as a Catholic candidate for the U.S. presidency, Marco Rubio, with a demonstrated track record of attacking LGBT people, promises to end marriage equality if he's made president, and as a leading representative of one of the most influential churches in the world, the Roman Catholic church, Cardinal Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez, taunts gay people with ugly slur words while the top leaders of the church remain completely silent about such behavior.
