Steve Benen at Maddow Blog on the grand jury's decision not to indict in the Eric Garner killing:
Each of these stories are, to be sure, individual incidents, worthy of their own attention. The victims’ loved ones deserve support, not because of a broader pattern, but because of their unique pain.
That said, the pattern is nevertheless hard to ignore.
As I said last week about the Michael Brown story and its parallels to other similar stories about black males and the American justice system, "It's as if there's a pattern here, isn't it?"
