Campaign to Assist Lucie's Place and Mission for Homeless LGBT Youth Raises $25,000

When I told you on Thursday about the campaign to raise funds for Lucie's Place, an organization assisting homeless LGBT youth in central Arkansas, I didn't mention the important role that Scott Wooledge and his Memeographs tweets have played in this campaign. As Dan Savage notes, it was Scott Wooledge who first got the campaign to raise funds for Lucie's Place going, in response to the Duggar family's donation of $10,000 in support of an initiative to reverse an ordinance in Fayetteville, Arkansas, protecting LGBT citizens from discrimination. 

The tweet at the head of the posting from Scott Wooledge's Memeographs site yesterday updates folks on what has happened with the campaign: in three short days, it has now raised $25,000 for Lucie's Place. This puts the organization on a firm footing to realize its longtime dream of being able to create a shelter for homeless LGBT youth in central Arkansas.
