News that brings delight to me as this day begins: a blog I very much admire, Colleen Kochivar-Baker's Enlightened Catholicism, has just appeared in Karen Anderson's list of the 50 best Catholic blogs.
Writing at Online Christian Colleges website, Karen Anderson states,
Any Catholic who feels a little bit out of synch with the community around them may appreciate knowing that there are others out there with similar mindsets.
There's that, definitely: Colleen provides community and a chance for conversation that many of us lack within the church itself, as it's now institutionally configured. And there's more: sharp theological insight, wide-ranging research, and through it all, a hopeful and Spirit-directed path towards a church more in line with Jesus's vision of the reign of God as we encounter that in the gospels.
This listing for Enlightened Catholicism is recognition well-deserved, and I offer Colleen hearty congratulations on this recognition of her blog. May it bring her many new readers.
(And thanks to Terry Weldon of Queering the Church for bringing Colleen's recognition to my notice--if these blogs are new to you, please note the links here to both, and please visit these two outstanding blogs.)
