As a follow-up to my recent posting about theologian Reinhold Niebuhr and President Obama, I’d like to draw readers’ attention to a valuable resource for further information about Niebuhr and his political significance. This is a recent podcast by Jesuit theologian Drew Christiansen at the America site. Drew Christiansen also links to a number of Niebuhr’s classic works at Amazon.com, as well as to Richard Wightman Fox’s 1997 biography of Niebuhr.For those interested in the role of religious ideas in our political life, it’s essential to understand Niebuhr’s legacy and how it’s used. I highly recommend this podcast as a valuable resource to that end.
